The Alrowwad Society hosted a series of film screenings for the 10th Palestine Cinema Days Festival, organized by Film Lab. The festival features a selection of films that will be screened over a week. The screenings kicked off at the Alrowwad Cinema Club with the film “The Three Promises,” directed by Palestinian filmmaker Youssef Sarrouji.
“The Three Promises” is primarily based on video clips recorded in the director’s home in the town of Beit Jala in Bethlehem. The footage takes place during the Second Intifada in the early 2000s and features questions and dichotomies that intertwine and intersect, including themes of staying and .leaving, the personal and the public, homeland and exile, resistance and surrender, all within a collection of family tapes being revive
